Edge Executive Search Group is assisting a prominent South African nonprofit to appoint an Executive Director in Diepsloot. The role provides strategic direction and operational leadership to ensure sustainable impact.

You will lead fundraising, governance, financial management and programme quality, working with the Board and senior management to deliver trauma-informed services, empower communities and strengthen institutional responses to gender-based violence.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in law, social sciences or a relevant field.
• At least five years of direct experience in senior nonprofit management.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, development and donor relationship management.
• Experience with trauma-informed approaches and working with survivors of gender-based violence.
• Strong financial management, budgeting and governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the organisation's strategic plan with the Board.
• Lead fundraising, donor engagement and strategic partnerships.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, cash flow and reporting with the Finance Manager.
• Strengthen governance and board effectiveness through reporting and policy compliance.
• Lead organisational planning, people management and staff wellbeing.
• Oversee programme quality and trauma-informed service delivery.
• Support programme delivery, evaluate outcomes and identify growth opportunities.
• Drive marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement.
• Represent the organisation to donors, government agencies and partners.
• Ensure compliance with legal, employment, tax and nonprofit requirements.
• Oversee IT systems, records and cybersecurity to protect information.
