About CorpsAfrica : Founded in , CorpsAfrica provides the opportunity for Africans to serve as volunteers in their own countries, along the lines of the Peace Corps model.

We train college-educated young Africans and send them to live for up to one year in rural, high-poverty communities to facilitate small-scale, high-impact projects that are identified by local people.

CorpsAfrica aims to promote a culture of public service in Africa by giving participants the opportunity to apply their education, skills, and energy toward helping their fellow citizens overcome extreme poverty.

CorpsAfrica has steadily expanded operations from Morocco to Senegal, Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa and the Gambia, with offices soon in Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

Having successfully proven the power and effectiveness of the model, CorpsAfrica has begun to receive significant funding from large donors.

Overview of the Position :

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Executive Assistant to support the Country Director of CorpsAfrica / South Africa.

The Executive Assistant will be responsible for managing the Country Director's schedule, coordinating travel arrangements, handling incoming and outgoing communication, and performing a variety of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Country Director's office.

Specific Responsibilities :
  1. Manage the organization's schedule, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and events.
  2. Coordinate with finance staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and financial transactions.
  3. Draft and format written correspondence on behalf of senior staff members, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of content.
  4. Maintain an organized system for tracking and prioritizing correspondence, following up on outstanding issues and ensuring timely responses.
  5. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters, and phone calls, responding promptly and professionally to inquiries and requests.
  6. Coordinate travel arrangements, including flight and hotel bookings, and preparing itineraries for senior management.
  7. Maintain accurate and organized records and files.
  8. Perform a variety of administrative tasks, such as preparing reports, presentations, briefing books and documents.
  9. Assist with the planning and execution of events and meetings.
  10. Filing and retrieving corporate records, documents, and reports.
  11. Reading and analyzing incoming memos, and submissions, and distributing them as needed.
  12. Act as a liaison between the Country Director and other departments or external stakeholders.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
  1. Bachelor's degree and at least three years of work experience are required in a fast-paced administrative support role.
  2. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to manage concurrent multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize accordingly, all with exceptional attention to detail.
  3. Working knowledge of Google Workspace apps, Salesforce, and Canva.
  4. A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
  5. Must be able to manage information flow in a timely, confidential, and accurate manner.
  6. Fluency in English is required; fluency in French is preferred.
  7. Highly collaborative style and demonstrated ability to work across cultures.
  8. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, presentation, and creative problem-solving skills.
  9. A strong commitment to the mission of CorpsAfrica is required, with a desire to support youth leadership, participatory community development, impact evaluation, transparency, and accountability.
