Qualifications

Job description

This position is site specific for the duration of the project.

Requirements:
  1. Formal Education: Degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering
  2. Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant experience after Qualification. Road design and/or Construction monitoring experience critical.
  3. Registration: Candidate Engineer, Candidate Technologist or Candidate Technician with the Engineering Council of SA (ECSA)
  4. Experience with COTO (COLTO): This will enable you to perform the following duties:
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitoring of the Construction Works in accordance with the Project Specifications, COTO and FIDIC;
  2. Auditing Contractor's compliance to Contract Participation Goals;
  3. Auditing Site safety measures: Supervisory staff and Contractor;
  4. Attend to Site and Technical meetings and preparing minutes;
  5. Maintenance of daily site diary;
  6. Monitor and assess survey data;
  7. Monitor and assess all test results and attend to other quality control matters;
  8. Measurement of quantities and verification of the Contractor's monthly payment certificates;
  9. Review, assess, record and monitor traffic accommodation measures and incidents;
  10. Preparing budgets and cash flows;
  11. Preparing Works Authorisations;
  12. Programme and expenditure control;
  13. Attend and minute work schedule meetings with Contractor;
  14. Preparing of site instructions and site memorandums;
  15. Assist with the preparation and compilation of the Contract Report;
  16. Attend to meetings with Community structures such as Public Liaison Committees;
  17. Any other reasonable request.
