Overview of the role and requirements :

The purpose of this EA role is to support the FirstRand Group CDO in managing the Digital Platform functions across the group. This includes supporting the Group CDO to articulate and coordinate delivery of our platform strategy, project management of strategic activities, and supporting the delivery of the Group CDO’s key objectives. The individual should effectively liaise with CIOs, CEOs, other C-suite roles, and collaborate closely with technology human capital functions to support talent management within the group. Support in strategy articulation via presentations and document production for the board, committees, external stakeholders, and exco’s will also be required. Candidates should have experience in driving strategic change management and within a technology domain.

You will be responsible for :
  • Building professional relationships with stakeholders, demonstrating listening, advising, influencing, negotiating, and presenting skills at all levels.
  • Leading and facilitating conflict resolution to reach consensual agreements.
  • Integrating opinions and information from various sources for strategic decision-making.
  • Adapting communication styles for different audiences.
  • Scanning industry trends to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships.
  • Leveraging relationships for knowledge sharing and insights.
  • Planning and executing strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Facilitating strategy development workshops.
  • Developing and implementing strategy and business plans.
  • Managing strategic issues, ensuring resolution and timely action.
  • Monitoring and adjusting strategic frameworks as needed.
  • Managing projects end-to-end, including scope, planning, resources, and completion.
  • Liaising with advisors and stakeholders on projects, including management, exco, board, shareholders, and regulators.
  • Creating dashboard metrics to track progress, risks, and initiatives.
  • Conducting research and analysis on technology and fintech developments, including competitor and sector analysis.
  • Benchmarking against peers and best practices.
  • Prioritizing relevant information and understanding broader environmental issues.
  • Coordinating reports, presentations, speeches, and documents.
  • Handling documentation and preparing reports for executives.
  • Writing and coordinating strategy documents, presentations, and other materials.
  • Keeping executives informed of activities within and outside the group.
  • Reviewing operational or technical issues and following up on delegated tasks.
  • Organizing events and workshops in collaboration with marketing and stakeholders.

  • Over 5 years of experience in a similar role.
