We are recruiting on behalf of a national organisation within the healthcare managed care space for an accomplished and strategic Executive : Actuarial and Data Analytics . This is a unique opportunity to lead the establishment and direction of a new in-house actuarial and analytics capability while also playing a critical role in executive decision-making.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Qualified Actuary (completion of all actuarial exams)
  • Fellowship of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA)
  • Minimum of 10 years actuarial experience with at least 3 years in the insurance or healthcare sector
  • Strong background in modelling pricing and data analytics
  • Prior experience working with medical schemes will be highly advantageous

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support the internal audit function and respond to regulatory developments
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable legislation including the Medical Schemes Act and CMS Regulations
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking to inform benefit positioning
  • Identify and mitigate risk using predictive modelling and scenario analysis
  • Implement data governance protocols and reporting frameworks for internal and regulatory stakeholders
  • Drive adoption of data-informed decision-making throughout the organisation
  • Lead benefit design optimisation and product development initiatives
  • Oversee pricing model development contribution strategies and reserving
  • Develop robust actuarial methodologies tailored to business needs
  • Redefine the working model with external consultants to optimise delivery and value
  • Build and lead a team of actuarial and analytics professionals
  • Provide strategic data-driven input at Executive Committee level
  • Establish and lead a high-performing internal actuarial and data analytics function
