A leading company in the agriculture and logistics sector seeks a logistics planner to manage transport operations efficiently. The role requires a university degree in Logistics, along with 2-5 years of relevant experience in the industry. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills while thriving in a dynamic environment. Planning logistic transport to and from clients.
Be able to execute contracts according to signed agreements and understand INCOTERMS.
Ensuring storage space at offloading slots at inland customers.
Ensuring sufficient transport is available to minimize storage costs and avoid additional expenses.
Arranging all transport for imports, exports, and inland movements to and from ports, silos, and customers with road and rail companies. Negotiating optimal rates.
Minimizing product storage by moving products swiftly to customers or ports.
Invoicing customers and ensuring timely payments.
Handling queries related to deliveries, reconciling, and finalizing contracts.
Following up on late payments, calculating, and invoicing interest as applicable.
Reconciling executed contracts daily.
Maintaining high customer and supplier satisfaction through daily interactions.
Analyzing PnL at month-end and providing management reports.
Appointing and communicating with inspection companies regarding rejections.
Building relationships and fostering trust.
Embracing challenges with customers, partners, and competitors.
Collaborating with a strong service attitude and taking full ownership.
Ability to work in a pressurized and dynamic environment.
Being an energetic, highly motivated self-starter.
Ensuring accuracy and completeness of reported figures, with full ownership and accountability.
2-5 years’ experience in the agriculture industry (grains and oilseeds) or logistics planning.
Excellent analytical and communication skills; business acumen is a plus.
Good team player, able to work independently.
Advanced Excel skills required.
Fluent in English and Afrikaans (oral and written).
Qualifications: University degree in Logistics.
