Job description

Events Specialist required in Midrand, Johannesburg.

The Events Specialist is responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of all events within a designated property precinct and its broader portfolio. This includes large-scale public activations, corporate functions, internal engagements, and sponsored events.

The role requires strong project management skills, creative flair, and a deep understanding of current event trends and best practices.

Working across multiple teams and external service providers, the Events Specialist ensures every event aligns with brand objectives, drives engagement, and delivers memorable experiences while managing budgets and timelines efficiently.

Salary: R40 000 – R60 000 per month.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Event Strategy & Planning:

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver all precinct events including commercial activations, internal functions, and public initiatives.
  • Develop event concepts in alignment with brand strategy and audience engagement goals.
  • Build comprehensive event plans including scheduling, budgeting, logistics, and vendor engagement.

Execution & Logistics Management:

  • Manage all pre-event, on-site, and post-event logistics and coordination.
  • Oversee supplier and contractor performance, ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Monitor event quality, attendee experience, and brand visibility.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and municipal regulations.

Sponsorship & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Manage the delivery of sponsorship rights and activations in line with contractual obligations.
  • Liaise with internal departments, tenants, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure successful collaborations.
  • Support broader marketing and stakeholder engagement strategies through events.

Foundation & Community Support:

  • Assist in coordinating community-facing and CSR events in support of associated foundations.
  • Support internal team initiatives and assist in event planning related to social impact.

Innovation, Trends & Reporting:

  • Research and propose creative concepts based on current event trends.
  • Analyse post-event data and compile reports with insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain an event calendar and ensure data-driven improvements for future events.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Events Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Hospitality, or related field.
  • Relevant project management qualification or certification.
  • NQF Level 7 qualification aligned with the occupational level of the role.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing end-to-end event delivery across both public and corporate environments.
  • Experience with sponsorship activation and community initiatives is essential.
