Job summary

MSU Residential and Hospitality Services seeks a Late Night Student Food Service Assistant for Case Hall. The role centers on dishwashing, cleaning, sanitizing, and supporting dining operations as part of a dependable team.

Shifts run from 6pm to 11pm with a maximum of 25 hours per week; weekend availability is required. Expect to contribute to outstanding guest service in a welcoming dining environment on campus.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year).
• Must be able to work a minimum 15 hours per week and some weekends.
• Availability to work 6pm–11pm, with late-night shifts and up to 25 hours weekly.
• Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision and respect a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Operate the dish machine and ensure sanitation standards.
• Check water temperature and soap concentrations; adjust as needed.
• Clean dish machine, walls, ceilings, doors, shelves and sinks periodically.
• Scrape, soak, wash, dry and store dishes, glassware, pots, pans and trays.
• Sweep, mop and sanitize floors; maintain a welcoming dining area.
• Support Case Dining with other food service duties as needed.
