Job summary

BMW Group South Africa is seeking an Automotive Production Engineer to optimize production workflows, ensure quality, and integrate sustainable practices in automotive assembly. The role operates in a modern facility with robotics and IoT‑enabled monitoring systems.

You will design line improvements, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, monitor standards, and develop staff training on advanced engineering techniques while advancing EV manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma is desirable.
• 3–5 years of automotive production engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement production line improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate new technologies into manufacturing processes.
• Monitor and maintain quality standards across all production stages.
• Develop and execute training programs for production staff on advanced engineering techniques.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production bottlenecks and propose solutions.
