Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience as an Estimator
• Excellent Mathematical skills
• Ability to review blueprints and constructions plans
• Occasional site visits, involving exposure to construction environments

Duties

• Analyse blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Develop accurate cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Review and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and scope of work.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to refine project scopes and clarify specifications
• Ensure all proposals meet company standards and client requirements.
• Research current market conditions, material costs, and labour rates.
• Maintain a network of industry contacts to gather relevant data and stay informed about industry trends.
• Maintain accurate records of all estimates, proposals, and related documentation.
• Provide detailed reports and summaries of estimates for review by management.
• Track and analyse project costs and profitability to identify areas for improvement
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information and address any queries.
• Present estimates and proposals to clients and stakeholders clearly and professionally
• Assist in the transition from estimation to project execution by providing necessary documentation and support.
• Review project progress and costs during construction to ensure alignment with the initial estimate.
