Estimate documentation is consistent in format and presentation. The allocated capital cost estimate is commenced with an Estimate Plan, approved by the Client, Senior Estimator, or Manager, Project Control, detailing the methodology to be undertaken in compiling the estimate, appropriate for the expected level of accuracy to be achieved.

The estimate is developed in accordance with the specific Estimate Plan, reviewed by the Project Team and corporate leadership as required by the relevant delegation of authority and the Client.
Records of the reviews are available, and the estimate is submitted on time. The estimate is saved in the appropriate, correct folder, is concisely indexed and numbered for full future traceability. For projects in the execution phase, actual quantities and costs are compared with the estimate for future reference and quality improvement.
