Job Description

RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established construction company in Gauteng specializing in large commercial building projects, is currently looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Estimating Assistant to join their team in Johannesburg as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will support the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive construction tenders, assisting with pricing, quantity take-offs, and supplier coordination.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in construction and a desire to grow within a professional and fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
  • Diploma in Building, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Estimating, or similar
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a construction estimating or administrative support role (preferably within a building contractor environment)
  • Familiarity with construction drawings and documents
  • Knowledge of local building materials and suppliers
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with estimating software (e.g., CCS Candy, BuildSmart, or similar) is beneficial
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Team player with a willingness to learn
