Job description

The Estate Security Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all security operations on a large residential estate. This includes the development and implementation of comprehensive security plans, ensuring the safety and security of residents, properties, and assets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing the full spectrum of security duties in large residential estates and will be adept at handling various security challenges with professionalism and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Security Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures tailored to the specific needs of the estate.
  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise security personnel, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Surveillance and Monitoring: Oversee the installation and maintenance of surveillance systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control systems, to monitor and protect the estate.
  • Incident Response: Develop and implement response plans for security incidents, including emergencies, breaches, and other threats; ensure timely and appropriate action is taken.
  • Access Control: Manage and control access to the estate, including the issuance of passes and badges, and monitoring visitor and contractor activity.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on security operations, incidents, and improvements to estate management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other relevant organizations to ensure coordinated responses to security incidents.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the security budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effective security solutions.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to estate security.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in security management, particularly in large residential estates.
  • Education: A degree in security management, criminal justice, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification: Relevant security certifications, such as PSIRA, are highly desirable.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of security professionals.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security issues.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of security systems and technology, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and incident management software.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Physical Fitness: Good physical condition, with the ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including patrolling and responding to incidents.
