A leading environmental organization is seeking an Estate and Facility Manager to oversee biodiversity initiatives, manage facilities, and ensure effective environmental practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conservation, facilities management, and relevant qualifications. The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is seeking a self-motivated individual to manage the estate, facilities, and support services of the garden, including buildings, workshops, machinery, and fleet management.
This position requires an advanced diploma or degree in Nature Conservation or an equivalent and relevant qualification at NQF level 7.
A relevant postgraduate degree at NQF level 8 or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
The role also demands a minimum of 6 years' experience in Conservation, Estate, and Facility Management within an eco-tourism environment.
The candidate should possess the following competencies: experience/exposure to tourism, nature-based tourism, management, urban conservation, wildland fires; understanding of biodiversity conservation at national and global levels; alien invasive species control; knowledge of biodiversity legislation; financial management skills; project management expertise; and familiarity with government HR, procurement, and financial policies.
A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required.
