ROLE SUMMARY :

An exciting opportunity in an expanding school environment, this full-time role will contribute to and lead the implementation of a comprehensive estates strategy for Reddam House Helderfontein. Working with the Executive Headmaster and senior management, the candidate will manage all estate, property, and infrastructure aspects, including service staff, upkeep, care, maintenance, security, health and safety, and facilities management, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

We seek a dynamic individual with ambition, leadership, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of proven experience in Estate and/or Facilities Management, with keen attention to detail and the flexibility to manage multiple operational aspects efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Meet regularly with management to discuss estate requirements and plans
  • Ensure buildings, infrastructure, and grounds are well-maintained, secure, and compliant
  • Oversee daily estate operations, including staff, schedules, and bookings
  • Assign tasks, supervise progress, and sign off completed work
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintain records
  • Arrange servicing of equipment, machinery, systems, and vehicles
  • Ensure the vehicle fleet is roadworthy and properly licensed
  • Coordinate with armed response and onsite service providers
  • Facilitate setup for functions and events
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth event operations
  • Assist in evaluating and reviewing service staff performance
  • Manage administrative functions for the estates department
  • Communicate relevant information effectively to staff
