Position: ESOL Tutor

Rate: £20-35 per hour

Location: London

Aspire People are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic ESOL Tutor to join our growing team on a sessional basis. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality ESOL courses that support adult learners in developing their English language skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to curriculum goals and individual learner needs.
  • Assess learners, identify areas for improvement, and adapt teaching methods and materials accordingly.
  • Provide individual support through one-on-one sessions and additional resources.
  • Monitor learner progress, give constructive feedback, and address underperformance.
  • Set, mark, and provide feedback on assignments, tests, and exams.
  • Prepare learners for assessments, mark work, and participate in moderation.
Requirements
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification such as CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, or a full teaching qualification for adult learning (DTLLS, PGCE, or DET).
  • A minimum GCSE English Grade C or equivalent if teaching ESOL/Literacy.
  • Proven successful track record of planning and delivering high-quality teaching of accredited and non-accredited provision in a relevant subject and at appropriate levels.
  • Experience of teaching adult learners of mixed abilities and understanding of appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Experience of devising course outlines and schemes of work.
