Job description

This newly created role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced pharmacy technician to join our innovative and passionate mental health pharmacy team based at New Craigs Hospital in Inverness.

This Role Will
  • Provide strategic, professional, and operational leadership to pharmacy technicians, pre-registration pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy support workers within the team.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy technical team, including performance management and appraisal.
  • Influence service development and lead the evolution of roles and responsibilities within the pharmacy technical team to meet future service needs.
  • Manage education, training, and professional development of the technical and support staff.
  • Deliver direct patient care to support a safe and effective mental health pharmacy service across North Highland.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, committed to service development and improvement, with meticulous attention to detail. You should be a strong leader and role model, setting high standards for patient-centered service delivery and professional practice.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should be qualified to S(N)VQ3 Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences, or equivalent, and registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Experience in planning, coordinating, and managing a pharmacy technical service is required. Ideally, candidates will hold a recognized accuracy checking qualification.
