Job Title: HVAC Sales Head - Midrand Area
We are seeking an HVAC Sales Head for the Midrand Area.
Job Summary
To manage sales of the company's HVAC products and ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenue through positive planning, deployment, and management of the sales team.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy
- Develop and implement strategic and business plans for the sales market.
- Strategize and plan sales process management, forecasting, pricing, key account management, expenses, profitability, new product development, market research, and brand strategy.
- Analyze store and partner performance indicators against company goals and lead direct reports to develop plans to improve the business.
- Expand current channels to market and identify new target contractors and consultants.
- Prepare sales strategies to achieve growth in local and export sales to neighboring countries.
Monitoring Profit
- Monitor sales performance by group and take action to improve performance where necessary.
- Lead sales efforts to ensure growth is achieved where possible.
- Motivate and inspire the team to perform to their full potential.
- Conduct regular meetings with the sales team to review performance and forecasts.
- Review distributor performance periodically and address gaps vs. targets.
- Discuss performance, training, and strategies with distributors and sales teams.
- Update management on business processes, operating plans, financial models, and profitability.
Market Share
- Conduct effective market research to increase sales.
- Analyze sales trends and develop strategies accordingly.
- Stay updated on market and industry trends, competitors, and customer strategies.
- Identify new applications or products to increase sales.
- Monitor and report on competitor activities.
- Support marketing activities like product launches, promotions, and exhibitions.
Sales Forecasting
- Ensure forecasting aligns with sales planning.
- Minimize forecasting errors and improve forecasting methods.
- Maintain acceptable levels of forecast accuracy based on sales performance.
- Ensure monthly and yearly sales forecasts are correctly prepared.
Project Management
- Maintain a healthy project pipeline for the assigned market.
- Follow up on projects from specification to tender to final decision, including pricing.
- Ensure projects are registered on the company's B2B system.
- Monitor project progress and conduct weekly pipeline meetings.
Pricing
- Negotiate pricing to drive sales.
- Stay informed about market developments and competitors' pricing.
- Make recommendations to keep prices relevant to brand perception.
Reporting
- Report and communicate sales performance versus targets.
- Highlight variances and adjust plans accordingly.
- Report on forecast accuracy and inventory plans.
Budget Setting
- Assist in setting annual sales targets for each sales group and distributors.
Required Experience and Competencies
- 5–10 years retail sales and sales management experience.
- Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies.
- Advanced MS Office skills.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license.
- Exceptional sales skills and understanding of consumer behavior.
- Negotiation skills and strong leadership qualities.
- Honesty, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally.
- Creativeness, persistence, and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Educational Requirements
- A Degree/Diploma in sales & marketing or business studies.
- Extensive experience in local and export HVAC sales management.
- Proven sales success record.
