Job summary

Decision Inc. is seeking a strong Microsoft D365 Business Central Developer to join our Business Applications team.

You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality AL-based extensions for Dynamics 365 BC, collaborating with functional consultants, solution architects, and clients to deliver cloud-first solutions. The role emphasizes upgrade-safe development, integration, and best practices across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 years' Microsoft Dynamics BC implementation experience.
• Experience in a consulting service environment.
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence, Enterprise Performance Management, or Business Productivity Solutions is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom AL extensions.
• Build scalable, upgrade-safe solutions without altering standard BC.
• Develop BC objects: Tables, Pages, Reports, Codeunits, Queries, XMLports.
• Create event-driven solutions with publishers and subscribers.
• Develop integrations via APIs, web services, and BC integration capabilities.
• Build and maintain reports and document layouts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across BC environments.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold development standards.
• Deploy and maintain solutions across development, test, and production.
• Support upgrades and ensure compatibility with new BC releases.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.

What Will You Do?

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design, develop, and maintain custom extensions using AL (Application Language).
• Build scalable, upgrade-safe solutions without modifying the standard Business Central application.
• Develop and customize Business Central objects, including:
• Tables
• Pages
• Reports
• Codeunits
• Queries
• XMLports
• Develop business logic to support finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, and warehouse processes.
• Create event-driven solutions using event publishers and subscribers.
• Develop integrations with third-party applications through APIs, web services, and Business Central integration capabilities.
• Build and maintain reports and document layouts.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across Business Central environments.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Deploy and maintain solutions across development, test, and production environments.
• Support solution upgrades and ensure compatibility with new Business Central releases.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the development team.

Who Do You Need to Be?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 years' Microsoft Dynamics BC implementation experience
• Must have participated in at least 3 go-live data conversions, and/or upgrades, and/or full cycle implementations
• Experience within consulting service environment
• Knowledge of and experience in one of our service offerings, such as Business Intelligence, Enterprise Performance Management, Business Productivity Solutions etc.
• Strong problem-solving skills and good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to explain technical concepts to businesspeople in a language they understand, and business requirements to technical people
• Ability to successfully manage and maintain strong relationships with a team and clients
• Effective planning and organizational skills
