Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent qualification is required.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are essential.
• Proven sales experience in equine/animal feed or related industry.
• Extensive practical knowledge of horses is essential.
• Strong understanding of horse feed, supplements and nutrition.
• Able to discuss feeding by age, condition, workload and activity.
• Experience with horses, stable yards or equestrian centres is preferred.
• Knowledge of livestock, poultry or pets feed is advantageous.
• Confident advisory skills and ability to recommend products.
• Strong customer service, relationship-building and communication skills.
• Sales-driven with monthly target orientation.
• Able to identify new business opportunities and build loyalty.
• Face-to-face and telephone sales capability.
• Self-motivated with limited supervision.
• Good admin, quotation, order-processing and follow-up abilities.
• Computer literate with basic POS/sales systems.

Responsibilities

• Sell horse feed, supplements, animal feed and related products.
• Assist customers in selecting suitable feed and products.
• Provide guidance on different equine feed ranges.
• Explain product features and feeding guidelines clearly.
• Build and maintain relationships with horse owners, trainers and yards.
• Develop relationships with livestock owners and farmers.
• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in equine and animal-feed markets.
• Contact prospective customers to introduce product ranges.
• Conduct customer visits and product presentations as required.
• Prepare quotations, process orders and follow up with customers.
• Achieve monthly sales and commission targets.
• Follow up on enquiries and repeat orders.
• Maintain accurate customer and sales information.
• Keep customers informed about availability, promotions and new ranges.
• Monitor requirements and suggest alternatives when needed.
• Coordinate with management and delivery teams to ensure fulfilment.
• Assist with resolving product-related queries professionally.
• Stay informed about developments in equine nutrition and products.
• Attend equestrian events and promotional activities as needed.
• Provide regular sales and business-development reports to management.
