SUMMARY :
Our client, an international player in renewable energies and a multi-source electricity producer (wind, solar, hydropower, and biomass), is currently looking for an EPC (Engineering Process Control) - Project Controller to be based in Giyani, Limpopo.
POSITION INFO :
Position : EPC (Engineering Process Control) - Project Controller
Location : Giyani, Limpopo
Qualifications and Experience :
- BTech or Bachelor's Degree in Cost Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related disciplines
- Prior experience in renewable sector or energy generation is valued
- General knowledge of standard forms of contracts, particularly FIDIC
- 3-5 years’ experience in cost controlling and contracts administration for EPC Projects
- Claims and change management for EPC Projects
Standard Operating / Computer System Knowledge :
- Experience with JD Edwards, SAP, etc.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Projects)
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Collate and control all cost information from various cost centres for project costs
- Update and monitor project cost progress and deviations against the approved budget, aligned with site progress
- Follow up on cost control and trends for project/site costs, highlighting deviations and proposing mitigation plans for risks
- Manage scope changes, including identifying and quantifying variations, site instructions, and scope modifications
- Review and evaluate claims from contractors/suppliers/service providers, and quantify claims, back-charges, and contra-charges for non-conformities and delays
- Manage cost reports, including reporting on costs, cash flows, and the financial position of project cost codes
- Update and control cost-to-completion forecasts, including risk and opportunity provisions
- Prepare monthly liabilities schedules/registers for contractors and assist with cash out forecasts and accrual provisions
- Assist in updating risk management templates and drafting contractual notifications to EPC contractors and suppliers
- Support contracts management administration, including updating registers and trackers for project POs and contracts
- Participate in dispute resolution and prepare litigation dossiers
- Control and reconcile site general spend (imprest system/petty cash)
- Participate in supplier evaluations, bid analyses, and procurement activities (requests and payment certificates)
- Coordinate invoice control and approval with project management and finance departments
