Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager in Pretoria, Gauteng to oversee cleaning, sanitation, and waste management across all facilities. You will lead a large custodial team, develop sanitation plans, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will drive operational efficiency, implement best practices, and foster a culture of safety and excellence with a hybrid work arrangement. The role demands strong leadership and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field as listed.
• 5-7 years in environmental services management or custodial operations.
• Proven track record leading large teams.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations in SA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain environmental services programs (cleaning, sanitation, waste management).
• Supervise custodial staff, including scheduling, training, and evaluations.
• Conduct inspections and audits to ensure high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Manage procurement of cleaning supplies, equipment, chemicals, and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations in SA, Gauteng region.
• Develop and manage departmental budget and resource allocation.
• Respond to emergencies and address sanitation/environment concerns.
• Collaborate with facilities management, health and safety for integrated operations.
• Implement waste reduction and recycling programs.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies.
