About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Environmental Sanitation Officer to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and environmental compliance across their facilities in Mossel Bay, Western Cape . This role is critical for maintaining a safe and healthy working environment, adhering to all relevant regulations, and implementing best practices in sanitation and waste management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in environmental health, sanitation science, or a related field, coupled with practical experience in implementing and monitoring sanitation programs. As an officer, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, developing action plans, and promoting a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility within the organization. This position offers the chance to contribute significantly to public health and operational integrity in the Mossel Bay region, operating on a remote basis for strategic oversight and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive environmental sanitation programs and policies.
• Conduct regular site assessments and audits to evaluate sanitation conditions, identify potential health hazards, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Monitor and manage waste management systems, including collection, disposal, and recycling processes.
• Investigate sanitation-related issues, complaints, and outbreaks, recommending and implementing corrective actions.

• Ensure adherence to relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards.
