Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist specializing in Environmental Science to join their laboratory in Queenstown. The role involves conducting fieldwork, laboratory analyses, and data interpretation to inform environmental strategies and conservation efforts.

You will develop remediation strategies, prepare technical reports and assess regulatory requirements while collaborating with a team in a hands-on, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in environmental research, field sampling, and laboratory analysis.
• Proficiency in environmental monitoring techniques and analytical instrumentation.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and impact assessment procedures.
• Experience with GIS software and statistical analysis tools for environmental data.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field studies to collect environmental samples (soil, water, air) and gather relevant data.
• Perform laboratory analyses to assess environmental pollutants, ecological impacts, and resource quality.
• Analyze environmental data using statistical software and modeling tools to identify trends and predict outcomes.
• Develop and propose strategies for environmental remediation, pollution control, and sustainable resource management.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and research publications.
• Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and contribute to the development of best practices.
