Job summary

Placements24 Environmental Services seeks an Environmental Scientist specialized in Impact Assessment to join the Queenstown team. The role evaluates environmental effects of development projects, ensures regulatory compliance, and proposes mitigation strategies in a hybrid setting.

You will work with project managers, engineers and regulators to conduct EIAs, EMPs, and baseline studies, and report findings to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Environmental Science or related field.
• Experience in EIAs and familiarity with relevant legislation.
• Strong skills in report writing, data analysis and project management.

You will work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and regulatory bodies to conduct comprehensive environmental studies. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) for various development projects.
• Perform baseline environmental studies, including ecological surveys, water quality testing, and noise assessments.
• Analyze data and compile comprehensive reports detailing potential environmental impacts and mitigation measures.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant national and local environmental legislation and policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science , Ecology, Environmental Management, or a related field.
