Job summary

Eskom is seeking a Research Assistant in Environmental Science at Vereeniging to support field sampling, lab analyses, and data management. You will work with senior scientists on ecological research and conservation projects, contributing to environmental stewardship.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or Chemistry, with some lab or field experience, and proficiency in data entry and spreadsheet analysis.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a research or laboratory setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with basic environmental sampling techniques and laboratory procedures.
• Proficiency in data entry and basic data analysis using spreadsheet software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in both laboratory and field environments in Vereeniging.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and execution of field sampling programs for water, soil, and air quality.
• Perform laboratory analyses on collected samples using standard scientific equipment and methodologies.
• Record and organize data accurately, maintaining detailed logs and databases.
• Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research projects.
