Our Client, a Global Strategic Management Consulting firm is seeking to recruit an Environmental Engineer within their dynamic Climate, Natural Resources and Infrastructure team of professionals.

Main Purpose of the Role :

Be responsible for the planning and implementation of Nature Based Solutions and/or other environmental engineering related projects. You will further manage and/or be involved in the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provision of specialist services to guide the planning and development of Nature Based Solutions, in the context of water resource, climate and natural resource-based projects.
• Undertake research and develop reports associated with technical studies and investment plans.
• Work closely with the CNRI lead to build capabilities, and unlock opportunities, in the planning and implementation of Pre-feasibility and Feasibility level studies related to green and grey infrastructure development.
• Preparation of technical and financial proposals in response to Request for Proposals received from a wide variety of clients.
• Presenting findings to clients, partners and senior decision-makers in government, development and the private sector with a high level of confidence.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required

• An Undergraduate and Master’s degree in engineering. An Environmental Engineering degree, or similar, would be preferred.
• 7 to 10 years of working in consultancy, development finance or a relevant corporate setting.
• Experience in managing and delivering consulting assignments in relevant fields and comfortable with client and contract management.
• Experience in the planning and design of Nature Based Solutions.
• Comfortable with undertaking and guiding junior colleagues.

Preferred

• Experience of working in Africa and other frontier markets
• Foreign language proficiency in French or Portuguese.

Key Skills and Attributes :

• An ability to apply engineering experience and background in a strategic manner.
• Knowledge of Nature Based Solutions and the role they play in providing climate resilience to different infrastructure types.
• Ability to provide design services related to Nature Based Solutions and other infrastructure developments (green and grey infrastructure).
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and deliver analytical tasks at a high quality.
• An energetic problem-solver, who is open-minded with multi-perspective views on international development, natural resource management, infrastructure delivery, governance systems and policies.
