Job Summary:

Hire Resolve's client is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Environmental Consultant specializing in the mining industry to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will provide expertise and guidance to clients in navigating complex environmental regulations and ensuring compliance in mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for mining projects and recommend sustainable development practices.
  2. Develop and implement environmental management plans to minimize mining activities' environmental impact.
  3. Monitor and evaluate compliance with environmental regulations and standards set by authorities.
  4. Provide technical support and guidance on environmental management best practices for mining companies.
  5. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate environmental considerations into projects from inception to closure.
  6. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies to advise clients effectively.
  7. Communicate findings and recommendations through reports, presentations, and meetings with clients and regulators.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in environmental consulting within the mining industry.
  3. Knowledge of local and national mining-related environmental regulations.
  4. Strong analytical skills and data interpretation abilities.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
  6. Certification or registration as an Environmental Consultant (e.g., CEnvP, P.Geo) is advantageous.
  7. Proficiency in GIS software and environmental monitoring tools.
  8. Ability to work independently and in team settings in a dynamic environment.
