Qualifications

• National Diploma in Environmental Management or Natural Sciences.
• Experience in water services management or regulation.
• Valid unexpired driver's license.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Data analysis, presentation and communication skills.
• Technical report writing and professional judgement skills.
• Understanding of the National Water Act and Water Services Act.
• Understanding of the National Green Drop Program.
• Willingness to travel long distances.

Responsibilities

• Inspect wastewater systems infrastructure and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
• Monitor wastewater effluent quality compliance and report findings.
• Issue letters of non-compliance and monitor remedial actions.
• Load wastewater data into IRIS by Water Services Institutions.
• Prepare presentations for catchment management forums and DWS management.
• Support Green Drop regulatory assessments.
• Coordinate corrective action plan submissions for the Green Drop program.
• Coordinate with Catchment Management Agencies on sewer spills and pollution incidents.
• Assess onsite sanitation against guidelines and regulations.
• Evaluate EIA and Environmental Management Plans for infrastructure projects.
