Placements24 is seeking an Environmental Compliance Officer for a fully remote position supporting projects across South Africa. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and sustainability standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include developing EMPs, conducting EIAs, monitoring compliance, liaising with authorities, investigating incidents, and delivering awareness training to teams and contractors involved in renewable energy sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, ideally in energy or large infrastructure.
• Experience with EIAs, EMPs, and managing environmental aspects of projects.
• Strong knowledge of South African environmental legislation, policies and permitting.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Ability to interpret technical data and translate into compliance actions.
