Our client, a prestigious boutique law firm based in Sandton, is seeking an experienced Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly collaborative and professional environment, where you can make a real impact in the field of environmental law.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental assessments and manage the full process from start to finish.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and related regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and legal teams to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Lead and manage environmental projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet all relevant environmental standards.
  • Perform thorough due diligence and risk assessments to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Identify potential environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative to drive projects forward.
  • Must be a registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) with EAPASA.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing environmental projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Proven experience in environmental assessment, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and policy.
  • Experience working in the mining sector is essential, as the firms projects frequently involve this industry.
