Job Description

To manage, monitor, and assess the potential environmental and social risks attached to the Bank's lending process through the ESRA process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with business units to understand strategic priorities and advise on climate change and other environmental & social risks and opportunities. Educate and share knowledge, suggest improvements, and implement business process controls.
  • Strategic Decision Support: Ensure ESRA delivers value using best practices. Integrate climate, environmental & social risk management into credit risk appraisal. Fulfill an ESG advisory role on large projects aligned with international standards.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with clients and lenders, ensure early coverage of ESRA, and be flexible to travel for site visits. Interface with consultants, clients, and credit committees to communicate risks and management actions.
  • Industry & Regulatory Research: Keep abreast of evolving ESG trends, legislation, and industry standards. Conduct research to inform risk management decisions.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Document internal processes, assist in sustainability reporting, and ensure compliance with policies and standards. Support carbon footprint calculations and disclosures.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental law, science, engineering, or economics.
  • 3-5 years' experience in environmental consulting, management, law, or sustainability assurance.
