Job summary

DP World seeks a seasoned professional for HSEQ Contractor Management to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation. With a dynamic role involving incident management, audits, and compliance checks, successful candidates will have a diploma in Safety Management and significant industry experience. This position will impact various depots, fostering a strong safety culture and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6-10 years’ experience in HSEQ.
  • Experience with OHSAS 45001, ISO 14001, RTMS protocols is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel required for shared position in Heidelberg and Alberton.

Job description

Job Function:

  • HSEQ Contractor Management
  • Manage Safety, Health, and Environment
  • Ensure compliance with ALL applicable legislation concerning Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management.
  • Ensure that all sites critical HSEQ inspections are conducted, maintained, up to date and filed correctly.
  • Manage and lead all incident investigations, re-evaluate risks with control measures on the risk assessment and ensure that preventive measures are in place and monitored for compliance including cascading learnings from incidents.
  • Ensure that HSEQ risk assessments and legal appointments are in place, maintained and filed correctly.
  • Compile monthly HSE and sustainability reports for the sites.
  • Improve HSE culture on the sites by constant engagement on HSE matters with staff.
  • Prepare and lead all internal, client and external audits with compliant results.
  • Ensure that all drivers are properly trained on transport safety requirements and properly inducted on CLDC HSE requirements.
  • Ensure that all vehicle and driver incidents are properly investigated, and preventive measures are implemented.
  • Ensure that all SOPs and Quality documentation are up to date, implemented on site through regular reviews and engaging all relevant Quality management stakeholders.
  • Drive the non-conformance system on site and ensure that all deviations are closed timeously.
  • Maintain and improve business continuity plans and emergency plans to respond to security threats (looting, robberies, hijackings, etc) as well as one site emergencies.

Qualification:

  • Grade 12 with Diploma/Degree in Safety Management or equivalent
  • SAMTRAC/NADSAM or equivalent qualification is advantageous

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 6-10 years’ experience in HSEQ and a working knowledge of the logistics industry.
  • Candidate with previous experience in OHSAS 45001, ISO 14001, RTMS, ISO 9001, SQAS, and IATF 16949 protocols is advantageous.
  • Dangerous Goods experience in warehousing and transport is advantageous.
  • Experience in a dynamic, high-volume operating environment.

  • This is a shared position for Depots in Heidelberg and Alberton-willingness to travel is requied
