Job summary

A leading freight forwarding company is seeking an Entry Clerk in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for capturing and processing Bills of Entry for air and sea freight, managing bonded entries, and attending customs audits. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience in customs entries, knowledge of tariffs and incoterms, and holds a valid driver's license. Experience with CargoWise and ShipShape is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in air / sea freight customs entries.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s license and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Capture and process Bills of Entry for air and sea freight.
• Handle special entries: repairs & returns, temporary imports.
• Manage bonded and ex-bonded entries and ensure compliance.
• Attend customs audits, stops, and disputes.
• Process Vouchers of Correction and customs refunds.

SUMMARY : Customs Entry Clerk

POSITION INFO :

My client from a Freight Forwarding Company is seeking an Entry Clerk to join their team

Capture and process Bills of Entry for air and sea freight (imports / exports)

Handle special entries : repairs & returns, temporary imports, warranty agreements, industrial / general rebates

Manage bonded and ex-bonded entries; oversee rebate and bond store compliance

Attend customs audits, stops, and disputes (NRCS, SAPS, CBCU, POH)

Process : Vouchers of Correction (VOC), Customs refunds / drawbacks, Cargo dues (imports / exports) and Customs documents (DA70, DA73, DA68)

Matric

3–5 years’ experience in air / sea freight customs entries

Knowledge of customs tariffs, port charges, and incoterms

Valid Code 08 driver’s license and own transport

experience with CargoWise and ShipShape is a plus
