Main Purpose of the Job:

To manage a specific team of employees, ensuring that work is completed efficiently, reviewed, and discussed with directors prior to being finalised.

Key Responsibilities:

·Perform reviews on work that has been completed by clerks.

·Ensure changes to work have been effectively implemented.

·Prepare financial statements and ensure statutory returns; including VAT, PAYE and UIF are accurate and timely.

·Ensure files are finalised according to company standards.

·Guide clerks to carry out work efficiently and effectively.

·Responsible for staff development, training and coaching.

·Ensure correct training/planning.

·Conduct performance evaluations for clerks.

·Ensure timesheets are completed timeously.

·Ensure that jobs completed have been invoiced.

Key Performance indicators:

·Accuracy and thoroughness of work.

·Meeting deadlines and turnaround times.

·Providing valuable advice and support.

·Identifying problem areas and ensuring risk control and compliance.

·Maintaining a skilled and motivated workforce.

·Effective management and development of subordinates.

·Positive results from Internal Service Survey and Customer Satisfaction Survey.

Knowledge, Experience & Personal Competencies:

Knowledge:

·Matric and a B.Com Accounting degree or similar.

·Proficient in MS Office.

·Keeping abreast of changing legislation.

·Strong technical knowledge in accounting practices.

Experience:

·2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar industry or role.

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·Integrity, honesty and confidentiality.

·Patience, understanding, adaptability and flexibility.

·Methodical, accurate and detail-conscious approach to work.

·Results orientated with a strongly motivation to achieve and adheres to deadlines.
