Job summary

Herotel Telecoms (Pty) Ltd in Plattekloof (Cape Town) invites applications for an Enterprise Network Engineer. You will design, deploy and support enterprise LAN, SD‑WAN, firewall and managed Wi‑Fi solutions within an MSP framework.

The role requires 3–7 years in enterprise networking, strong knowledge of OSPF/BGP, VLANs and QoS, plus SD‑WAN/Wi‑Fi design experience. Willingness for after-hours changes and on-call rotation is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Applications are invited for the Enterprise Network Engineer position to be based in Plattekloof, Cape Town.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As an Enterprise Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and support of network infrastructure environments for enterprise customers. Operating within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) framework, this role is focused on the internal engineering, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise LAN, SD-WAN, firewall, and managed Wi-Fi solutions.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Design and plan scalable and secure enterprisenetwork environments, including LAN, SD-WAN, Firewalls, and Wi-Fiinfrastructure.
• Deploy and configure networking hardware andsoftware across client environments according to design and security bestpractices.
• Maintain and support the operational stabilityof enterprise networks, ensuring high availability, performance, andresilience.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues acrossLayer 2/3, SD-WAN overlays, and perimeter security infrastructure.
• Collaborate with project managers, systemsengineers, and service delivery teams to ensure smooth rollouts and consistentoperations.
• Implement upgrades, patches, and firmwareupdates on network devices.
• Document configurations, designs, and changes inaccordance with internal standards and compliance frameworks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of tools,templates, and processes used to deliver and maintain network services.

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:

• 3 to 7 years’ experience in enterprise networkengineering or infrastructure roles.

Education Requirements:

• Grade 12
