The primary goal of this role is to develop new business opportunities and to secure new enterprise clients.
Job Description
MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Develop a sales target and execution plan.
- Identify and establish relationships with key contacts.
- Communicate and educate client prospects about the Teraco value proposition and position this within the clients‘ sales engagement.
- Understand client positions in the greater Teraco ecosystem and communicate value to the Teraco business.
- Produce joint marketing opportunities and deliver content related to Teraco client opportunities (events, case studies, etc.)
- Support the Teraco operation in the daily dealings with clients.
- Achieve (and exceed) sales targets.
- Sales pipeline management and reporting.
Account planning and execution
- Networking within the industry.
- Identify new markets and business opportunities, threats, and competitor activity.
- Communicate new prospects to the Teraco business.
Administration
- Maintaining CRM with client contact/activity details.
- Negotiating any additional terms in the supply of services.
Reporting and communication
- Building relationships throughout business levels to maximise depth of awareness of Teraco and create strategic relationships.
- Personal performance review and reporting.
Job Requirements
SKILLS REQUIREMENT
- An innate ability to understand unique industry requirements.
- Experience in ICT, specifically cloud, networks, and IT services.
- An established and proven network of contacts in the ICT industry with an understanding of the industry’s unique workings.
- Ability to identify and understand prospective client colocation needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the business, including at CIO / CTO, C-Suite, and board level.
- Excellent problem solving and organisational skills.
- Experience and understanding of RFP process.
- Strong negotiation skills and an ability to close deals.
- Ability to work independently and be a positive team player.
- Meticulous and analytical.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Matric qualifications and degree/diploma.
- Five or more years relevant sales experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office and CRM system skills.
- Proven track record in closing large accounts.
- Experience in the ICT sector dealing with finance and enterprise markets.
- Solid understanding of general cloud concepts and application.
