By integrating technical expertise, strategic insight, and a clear understanding of context, this role drives impactful solutions and supports the continual evolution of our technology landscape to align with business goals and budget.The successful candidate will lead and support teams of engineers to ensure successful business delivery and strategy execution.This role involves leading and driving strategic projects and programmes in collaboration with our EPMO team.
It is an active role in delivering Cell C's strategy and strategic initiatives, not just passive governance.Main ResponsibilitiesStrategic Alignment and Solution DeliveryDevelop, refine, and manage a 18-month to 3-year strategic view of all portfolios, systems, processes, and architecture to support business goals.Lead the design and implementation of architecture views and roadmaps; develop solution blueprints that respond proactively to business and technology trends within budget.Translate business and technical requirements into actionable specifications.Drive the delivery of critical projects, ensuring solutions meet business needs and follow best practices.Governance and Framework DevelopmentEnhance and manage architecture governance structures to align decisions with strategic goals and ensure compliance with standards and policies.Develop, document, and standardize architecture resources including repositories, principles, and standards.Ensure solutions are vetted through governance forums and conform to design directives and architecture standards.Present designs to the Design Authority to ensure consistency with enterprise architecture goals.Collaborate with the EPMO to monitor project progress, address risks, and drive progress.Participate actively in architecture forums and approve project specifications and estimates.Operational and Leadership SupportProvide decision-support to executives and management for planning and delivery across technology domains.Offer technical leadership in resolving design and technology challenges within projects and domains.Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, and system managers to ensure strategic alignment.Risk Management and ComplianceAssess and manage risks associated with technology architectures; identify threats and implement mitigation controls.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, managing operational risks.Support operational teams in risk identification and management.Budgeting and ProcurementAssist in budget and procurement planning within the technology domain, tracking costs and advising on financial impacts.ConsultingSupport project implementation in the technology space aligned with business objectives.Leverage knowledge of systems to support business analysis of new or enhanced products.Knowledge ManagementMaintain the reference architecture repository.Use standard templates and formats for documentation.Share information through approved channels and repositories.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.Industry certifications such as TOGAF, Cloud, Security, Developer, Enterprise, or Business Architecture certifications.Added AdvantageAdvanced qualifications like a Master's degree or project management certifications.Specialized certifications in Security, Telecommunications, Systems Thinking, or Management.Experience Required10+ years in technology and business leadership roles.Minimum 5 years in enterprise, system, or business architecture.Proven experience in designing and implementing complex, high-availability systems for large customer bases.Strong leadership and strategic skills, with a track record of successful delivery.Added AdvantageHands-on system operations and software development experience.Experience leading system upgrades, data migrations, and digital transformation projects.Proven ability to guide large organizations managing third-party and in-house solutions.Cell C is an equal opportunities employer, committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees are treated fairly and with respect, regardless of race, gender, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
