Job summary

Mediclinic Milnerton in the Western Cape seeks a nurse to deliver safe, basic nursing care according to Scope of Practice. You will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, identify risks, contribute to a therapeutic environment, and maintain accurate nursing records.

The role emphasises patient safety, CPD, and ongoing learning, with a focus on infection prevention, Basic Life Support, regulatory compliance, and nursing legislation to support quality care.

Qualifications

• Higher certificate in nursing (or equivalent) is required.
• 1 year post-qualification experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control, BLS, nursing procedures and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience and documentation of nursing interventions.
• Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Deliver basic nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting in the creation of a therapeutic environment
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions

• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charted

Required Education

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

Higher certificate in nursing (or equivalent)
