Qualifications

• Enrolled Nurse with current registration and scope of practice
• Infection prevention and control knowledge is essential
• Pharmacology awareness relevant to ward practice
• Scientific nursing principles and process
• Patient assessment and care planning skills
• Nursing processes and procedures across multidisciplinary teams
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) for records
• Familiarity with nursing legislation and professional standards
• Ability to develop and update nursing care plans
• Identify and report clinical risks promptly

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To deliver safe, quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions

• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged

Required Education

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Enrolled Nurse Certificate

DESIRED EDUCATION: For specialised wards, CPD courses in specific speciality area

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year post qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit
