MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To deliver safe, quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

1. Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
2. Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety.
3. Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
4. Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
5. Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence.
6. Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Enrolled Nurse Certificate.

DESIRED EDUCATION: For specialised wards, CPD courses in specific specialty area.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year post qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

1. Basic life support trained.
2. Infection prevention and control.
3. Pharmacology.
4. Scientific nursing principles and process.
5. Nursing processes and procedures.
