Enrolled Nurse Auxillary - Theatre : Century City Day Hospital

The purpose of the position is to provide a proficient nursing service within the policies and procedures, governing legislation and good corporate governance in order to ensure satisfaction of customer needs, demands and preferences.

CRITICAL OUTPUTS

1. Function as part of a theatre team under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
2. Competent and confident as Circulating nurse.
3. Friendly, professional delivery of quality clinical care to promote holistic care of the patient & to ensure the safety of the patient.
4. Promote and maintain the hygiene of the patient in all aspects.
5. Prevent cross infection by adhering to infection control policies / procedures.
6. Maintain the comfort of the patient as well as prevention of complications.
7. Promote the patient’s welfare by doing the necessary observations.
8. Document / record all findings correctly in patient’s file.
9. Timeous & accurate checking of stock.
10. Use, maintain & store resources appropriately without wastages and abuse of equipment and consumables.
11. Demonstrates good judgement, client service & decision-making skills in line with company values.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
2. At least 3 years’ experience within a theatre environment essential.
3. Able to work flexi-time according to unit requirements.
4. Knowledge of nursing activities within scope of practice.
