The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the surgical team to perform surgical procedures and to ensure that the patient receive optimal care in accordance with the company and hospital strategic objectives.

A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary Theatre based at Life Bay View Hospital, reporting to Ansie Viljoen, Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the surgical team to perform surgical procedures and to ensure that the patient receive optimal care in accordance with the company and hospital strategic objectives.

Critical Outputs

• Ensuring accurate charging by managing theatre clocking time
• Ensuring consignment stock, equipment and prosthesis is charged according to policy
• Managing stock by participating in regular stock taking and controlling of the consignment stock in accordance with the hospital (local) policy
• Effective usage and care of Equipment
• Ensuring the use of personal protective clothing and complying with ISO requirements
• Ensuring the disposal of medical waste in order to effectively control infection
• Adhering to sterility principals
• Maintain a healthy relationship with external stakeholders by reporting and escalating unresolved issues to the unit manager

Requirements

• Qualification as an Enrolled Auxiliary Nurse, registered with SANC
• Relevant experience to meet the critical outputs
• Computer proficiency would be an advantage
• Own transport essential
• Must be able to work flexible hours according to Hospital operational needs
