Function: Nursing Facility Life Knysna Private Hospital

Position: Enrolled Nurse | Auxiliary Specialist | Theatre

Introduction: A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary at Life Knysna Private Hospital. The successful candidate will report to Bridget Hall, Unit Manager. The role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in line with company objectives and relevant health and nursing legislation.

Critical Outputs

Ensure effective quality management systems by:

  • Participating in quality programs and ensuring induction training is conducted
  • Completing monthly quality evaluator cards and reporting to the shift leader or unit manager
  • Attending review and ward meetings to ensure compliance with audit standards
  • Understanding and adhering to infection control standards and PPE procedures
  • Following safety measures

Ensure optimum operational efficiencies by:

  • Managing stock accurately
  • Reporting patient movements upon discharge or transfer
  • Properly using and maintaining equipment
  • Minimizing and justifying personal absenteeism
  • Working flexible hours and assisting other departments as needed

Ensure effective patient care by:

  • Completing assigned tasks to maximize patient care
  • Maintaining patient hygiene, comfort, and safety according to care plans
  • Using correct techniques and PPE to promote healing
  • Monitoring and recording fluid intake
  • Preparing for surgical and diagnostic procedures

Effective relationship management with customers by:

  • Building and maintaining healthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting new staff during orientation
Requirements
  • Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary and registration with SANC
  • Experience with anesthesia and flooring
  • Minimum 1-2 years in a theatre environment
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Understanding of the private healthcare industry is advantageous
  • Ability to work shifts as required
  • Computer proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license
