Function Nursing Facility Life Bay View Private Hospital Position Enrolled Nurse | Auxiliary | multi–Care ICU

Overview

A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary, based in our ICU at Life Bay View Hospital, reporting to Melinda Verwey Unit Manager ICU. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring delivery of uncompromising quality care in line with Company strategic objectives and applicable Health /Nursing legislation.

Critical Outputs

• Ensure effective quality management systems by attending and participating in Q programs and ensuring induction training is carried out
• Ensure monthly Q evaluator cards are completed and report to the shift leader or unit manager
• Attend and participate in review and ward meetings to ensure conformance to QMS audit standards
• Perform, understand and comply with the company infection control standards to adhere to PPE standards and procedures
• Adhere to safety measures

Operational Efficiency

• Ensure correct and accurate stock administration
• Correctly report patient movements on discharge or transfer
• Ensure correct and proper usage and maintenance of equipment
• Ensure personal absenteeism is minimised and justified
• Work flexible hours to minimise agency costs and assist other departments

Quality Patient Care

• Perform and complete tasks assigned to maximise patient care
• Ensure patient hygiene, comfort and safety is measured in accordance with the nursing care plan
• Follow correct techniques and wear PPE to promote healing of wounds and fractures
• Monitor and record patient intake of fluids
• Assist with the management and preparation of surgical and diagnostic procedures

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain healthy relationships with internal and external customers and support all new staff members with the orientation program

Requirements

• Needs to be registered as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary with SANC
• Current registration with the relevant professional / regulatory body
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
