Mediclinic Southern Africa is a healthcare provider operating in South Africa and Namibia, focused on providing acute care, specialist-oriented, multidisciplinary hospital services, and related service offerings. The group currently operates 50 private hospitals (excluding a growing number of day clinics) throughout South Africa and three hospitals in Namibia, with more than 8,200 beds in total.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To deliver safe, quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
  1. Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  2. Identify, prevent, and report risks to ensure patient safety.
  3. Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
  4. Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
  5. Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence.
  6. Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.
Required Education

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Enrolled Nurse Certificate.

DESIRED EDUCATION: For specialised wards, CPD courses in specific speciality areas.

Required Experience

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year post-qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 3 years' post-qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit.
