SUMMARY :
Qualified Enrolled Nurses and Enrolled Nurse Assistants
POSITION INFO :
The successful candidate will work on a one-to-one basis with patients in their homes or in a healthcare facility. Minimum requirements to apply include:
- Being part of a multidisciplinary team, caring for patients such as:
- Adults and children with tracheostomies connected to ventilators, elderly patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s, quadriplegic patients with PEG tubes, and palliative/end-of-life care patients.
- Providing basic care and assisting with personal hygiene (washing, dressing, grooming, feeding, mobility support, toileting).
- Administering medications under supervision of a registered nurse or family.
- Possessing a First Aid Certificate (advantageous).
- Documenting patient conditions and progress accurately.
- Supporting activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Monitoring and recording vital signs.
- Performing basic wound care.
- Managing feeds for tracheostomy patients using feeding pumps.
- Observing and recording changes in patient conditions.
- Writing clear reports in good English.
- Assessing sleep routines and adjusting care plans accordingly in consultation with registered nurses.
- Understanding treatment plans set by team members (Doctors, NSMs, Physiotherapists) to ensure proper task execution.
- Maintaining good communication with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and families.
- Dealing effectively with emergency situations at home.
- Having knowledge of Geriatric, Paediatric, Dementia, Post-Stroke, and Ventilation Care.
- Understanding catheter care (indwelling, suprapubic, intermittent) and prevention of pressure sores in bedridden patients.
- Knowledge of tracheostomy care, including suctioning, or experience observing such procedures.
- Preventing infections across all patient types.
Desired Qualifications: Diploma as a qualified Enrolled Nurse.
