Job summary

Nova Pioneer is seeking an enthusiastic FET Maths and Physics teacher for Ruimsig Secondary School in Johannesburg. The role focuses on enquiry-based learning, student-centered instruction, and collaboration with Deans of Instruction to grow teaching practice.

The ideal candidate holds a Maths degree with PGCE, is SACE registered, and has 2+ years teaching senior school Maths (Grade 8–12). Cambridge/IEB familiarity is a plus, with a passion for innovative education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mathematics or equivalent and a PGCE.
• Mathematics major through year 3; Cambridge/IEB experience preferred.
• SACE registered and ability to lead a classroom independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging enquiry-based Maths and Physics lessons with technology.
• Observe, coach and mentor new teachers.
• Set ambitious goals and provide constructive feedback to students.
• Conduct ongoing assessment and use data to adjust teaching methods.
• Attend weekly deans' feedback meetings and participate in professional development.
• Communicate with parents and participate in co-curricular activities.
