Role Overview

We are seeking an English teacher to work with our Cambridge International lower secondary students (Grades 7–9). The role involves both teaching and administrative responsibilities, with a balanced timetable spread across four days per week. Where possible, teaching hours will be scheduled consecutively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach 15 hours of English lessons per week to Grades 7–9, aligned with the Cambridge International curriculum.
  • Fulfil 5 hours of administrative responsibilities (e.g., assessment preparation, marking, reporting, student support, curriculum planning).
  • Prepare engaging and well-structured lessons that develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and critical analysis.
  • Monitor student progress through regular assessment and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support the school’s academic programme and participate in meetings, parent communication, and professional development.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive, respectful classroom and school environment.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (essential).
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
  • Previous experience teaching English at secondary school level; Cambridge International curriculum experience is an advantage.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to prepare students for Cambridge assessments.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong organisational skills to balance teaching and administrative duties.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with students, parents and guardians.
