Location: South Africa - 100% Remote / Home Working (Must permanently live in South Africa & have the right to work without restrictions to apply for this role)

Pay Rate: $6.50 USD

Contract: 12-month initial contract (Highly likely to be extended, but no guarantees) - Self-employed contractor. Responsible for own taxes.

Role

Join our passionate team at Twinkl, contributing to online content creation for South African teachers. This role is part of the existing Twinkl South Africa team, which is dedicated to producing CAPS-aligned resources that address content gaps and customer requests. Your primary collaboration will be with the rest of the South African content writer team, editors, and designers to create resources for the Senior Phase.

Weekly Activities Include

• Creating resources in English for multiple grades and subjects in the Senior Phase to support teaching and learning.
• Aligning keywords with CAPS categories using your teacher's knowledge and research skills.
• Producing resources in response to customer needs and current teaching methodologies.
• Participating in team discussions to generate new ideas.
• Communicating effectively with the GM team, editors, designers, and illustrators.
• Managing administrative tasks associated with the role.
  
  

Our ideal candidate is passionate about contributing to the education community, possesses good CAPS knowledge, and is a creative thinker willing to explore unfamiliar learning areas.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Holds primary qualified teacher status (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent degree).
• Has 3 years of full classroom teaching experience.
• Excels in communication within a close-knit team.
• Demonstrates detailed and up-to-date knowledge of CAPS.
• Can confidently work across different IT platforms.
• Understand the unique pressures and educational trends in the South African teaching community.
• Has a drive for continuous professional development.
• Has a reliable internet connection and the necessary IT equipment for remote work.
• Is equipped with solar or inverter power for uninterrupted work during load-shedding.
  
  

You will collaborate with Tilana Esterhuizen (Team Leader), the Growth Marketing team, the South African team of qualified teachers, and our in-house design and illustration teams.
